Ian Wardle has been CEO of Lifeline for 18 years. Lifeline is a national, medium sized substance misuse charity, in existence since 1971. He took up post as CEO prior to the first National Drug Strategy, and has overseen significant growth and development, and field development initiatives, during this time.
Executive memberships include: NICE guideline group on psychosocial interventions (2007), Drug Misuse and Dependence: UK Guidelines on Clinical Management Group, (2007), The Patel Report 2010 (Prison Drug Treatment Strategy Review Group), National Skills Consortium, Independent Inquiry into the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1971 (1999). Ian actively contributes to contemporary debates and problem solving activity, in order to strengthen community collaboration to deliver innovative and integrated services. He has authored key reports around recovery, the drug treatment workforce.
